Russian skiers became Olympic champions in the four by five kilometers relay at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova were part of the Russian team. They covered the distance in 53 minutes 41 seconds and won gold. The Germans Katerina Saurbrey, Katarina Hennig, Victoria Karl, Sophie Krell were second, 18.2 seconds behind the Russians. Maia Dahlqvist, Ebba Andresson, Frida Karlsson and Junna Sundling of Sweden finished third, 20.7 seconds back.
The Russian ski team now has six medals from the Beijing Games. In women, silver in the skiathlon was won by Nepryaeva. Gold on the account of Alexander Bolshunov in the same discipline.
The men’s ski relay will take place on 13 February. The race will start at 10:00 Moscow time.
