The court panel of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will hold hearings on the removal of the temporary suspension from the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva in an online format. It is reported by Match TV, citing a source.
The court must make a decision within a day after the date of registration of the appeals – that is, on February 12 after 17:20 Moscow time. The composition of the arbitrators appointed to the case of the 15-year-old athlete is still unknown. They should be appointed by the head of the CAS field panel, American Michael Lenard.

On February 11, the International Testing Agency (ITA) officially confirmed that Valieva’s December 25 doping test tested positive for the banned trimetazidine. After that, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Olympic Committee filed an appeal with CAS against the decision to lift the temporary suspension from the 2022 Olympic Games Valieva. It was registered on the evening of February 11th.
Valieva’s questionable doping test was reported on 9 February. In this regard, the IOC has postponed the award ceremony following the results of the team tournament of the Olympics. The Russian team, which included Valieva, became the winner in this type of program.
