Sports Minister offers the reopening of the San Rafael complex in Esmeraldas for March | Other Sports | sports

The sports minister, Sebastian Palacioson his visit to emeralds regretted that the scenarios of this city like the San Rafael Sports Complexlocated in the south of the city, is not working with the risk that its infrastructure will be destroyed by the weather and lack of maintenance, and after a tour of the stage announced that by the third week of March could be enabled for the benefit of Esmeralda athletes.

Palacios, along with officials from this Secretary of State, inspected the complex that remains closed due to a debt held by the Esmeraldas Sports Federation (Fedesmeraldas), for 233,000 dollars with the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), due to employer default, for three years.

The official said that are reaching agreements with the IESS to comply with a payment plan and thus avoid the announced embargo of the complex to deliver it to Fedesmeraldas for its use.

On the tour, at noon this Friday, Palacios showed the work completed with an investment of $ 8 million in 2019 and that it already has an athletic track, changing rooms, four multipurpose courts, sports center, administrative building, two synthetic fields , green areas, outdoor stands, among other spaces.

The reopening of this scenario would take place in the third week of March of this year, announced the former bicyclist and national team player.

Nubia Villacís Coliseum

Regarding the Nubia Villacís sports arena, he said that it is pending a new study of its infrastructuredue to infiltration of groundwater in its surroundings and therefore its temporary closure was recommended.

Palacios arrived in Esmeraldas together with the Minister of Education, María Brown, to inaugurate the first meeting of “Hincha de mi Barrio” in the 50 Casas sector, in order to promote the mental and physical health of children and adolescents, to combat violence and drug use. (D)
