Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov won the silver medal in the 15 km time trial at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
The winner was the representative of Finland Iivo Niskanen, who covered the distance in 37 minutes and 54.8 seconds. Bolshunov was 23.2 seconds behind the winner. Norway’s Johannes Klabo finished third, 37.5 seconds back.
Other Russians managed to get into the top 20. Alexey Chervotkin took 5th place, Ilya Semikov became 9th, Ivan Yakimushkin – 13th.
Bolshunov won gold at the Beijing Games in the skiathlon on February 6, becoming an Olympic champion for the first time. He brought the Russian team the first victory in this discipline since 2006.
On February 13, the men’s ski relay race will be held as part of the Beijing Olympics. It will start at 10:00 Moscow time.
