Earlier on February 11, it became known that the International Olympic Committee had filed an appeal with CAS against the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to lift the temporary suspension from the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing Valieva. The reason was the positive result of the athlete on trimetazidine, found in the sample dated December 25. Her case will be considered by a special commission before the start of the individual tournament at the Games.

Valieva’s dubious doping test became known on February 9. In this regard, the IOC has postponed the award ceremony of the Olympic team tournament.
