Communications Director of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Mark Adams commented on the situation with a positive doping test of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. His words are given in the Match TV Telegram channel.
“We don’t blame anyone indiscriminately. Each of our countries builds legislation in the same way. If we are talking about one person, we deal with him, and not with the whole team. We are strict,” Adams said. He stressed that the case is still under consideration and the IOC must remain politically neutral.

Earlier on February 11, it became known that the IOC filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to lift the temporary suspension from the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing Valieva. The reason was the positive result of the athlete on trimetazidine, found in the sample dated December 25. Her case will be considered by a special commission before the start of the individual tournament at the Games.
Valieva’s dubious doping test became known on February 9. In this regard, the IOC postponed the award ceremony of the Olympic team tournament
