The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) refused to comment on the situation with the doping test of the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the agency.
“We will not comment on this situation,” a TASS source said.
Earlier, the International Testing Agency (ITA) reported that Valieva’s test was positive for trimetazidine. The drug was found in a sample taken on December 25 at the Russian Championship, which took place in St. Petersburg. The figure skater has not been suspended from the competition, her case will be considered by a special commission.

After that, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to cancel the temporary suspension from competitions at the Olympics Valieva.
Valieva’s dubious doping test became known on February 9. It was reported that in the sample of a 15-year-old Russian woman, the banned drug trimetazidine was found. In this regard, the International Olympic Committee held legal consultations with the International Skating Union and postponed the award ceremony of the Olympic team tournament.
