The company GolTV made five proposals to the Professional Soccer League of Ecuador (LigaPro), entity that transmitted it to the clubs in the Council of Presidents, meeting this Thursday, who in the first instance decided not to accept any of the options that the company gave to cancel an accumulated debt, close to 11 million dollars.
GolTV, from Uruguayan businessman Paco Casalpresented the following payment options to clubs.
one. Pay the entire debt in 12 semi-annual installments (six years), starting in July 2022.
two. That the LigaPro agree to forgive 20% of the debt and within a maximum period of 120 days, counting from the acceptance of the proposal, GolTV will present a payment plan adjusted to the terms of execution of the judgments and/or awards pending in the judicial and/or arbitration processes in process.
3. That 30% of the debt be forgiventhen it is offered to pay the remaining balance in 36 equal and consecutive monthly installments, the first due on July 31, 2022.
Four. That 40% of the debt be forgiven and offers to pay the remaining balance within a maximum period of 180 days from the acceptance of the proposal.
5. That 50% of the debt is not consideredin this case, offers to cancel the remaining balance within a maximum period of 120 days, counted from the acceptance of the proposal.
If the clubs decide to terminate the contract and Goltv leaves, there is no problem, obviously we will have to call an internal contest to listen to various offers and for EVERYONE to choose the best one. It’s how I think things should be done.

Since the pressure from the clubs began, at the end of last year, to collect the outstanding debt, Miguel Angel Loorpresident of the LigaPro, wrote on February 3: “If the clubs decide to terminate the contract and GolTV leaves, there is no problem, obviously we will have to call an internal competition to listen to various offers and let everyone choose the best. It’s how I think things should be done.”
Diario EL UNIVERSO learned that in the event that the clubs terminate the contract there is a compensation clause in favor of the company GolTV and the television station’s representative for Latin America, the Uruguayan Osvaldo Giménez, said: “We are not thinking of reaching those instances, but of complying with Ecuadorian soccer”.
