State Duma Deputy Irina Rodnina commented on the data that a problematic doping test at the Beijing Olympics turned out to be a loner Kamila Valieva. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“I will say this, our girls have been hunted for a long time, especially for those who train with Eteri Tutberidze,” Rodnina said. She added that we need to wait for official information.

On February 9, Inside The Games reported that Valieva’s doping test was questionable. It is noted that the test was passed outside the competitive period – in December 2021. Also, according to media reports, traces of the drug trimetazidine, used to prevent angina pectoris, were found in the sample.
The Russian team became the best in the team figure skating tournament at the Olympics. Valieva made history by becoming the first woman to perform a quad jump at the Games.
