Former player criticizes Fred and Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammates at United: “He’s playing with dummies”

After the tie of Manchester United against Burnley for the English Premier League, 1-1 on Tuesday, the host of the “TalkSport” podcast, former player Dean Saunders, criticized the team – including the Brazilian Fred. In addition to questioning the squad, he said that Cristiano Ronaldo is not to blame, as he plays “with dummies”.

With the Portuguese on the bench from the start of the game, entering only at 29 of the second half, the team could not beat the one that occupies the last place of the table, playing at Old Trafford. This was a crucial point for the former Wales striker to criticize the club.

“People are starting to point fingers at Ronaldo, but he is playing with some dummies, some of them are not on the same wavelength as him. If you asked Ronaldo, ‘Who’s the worst midfielder you’ve ever played with in your career?’ Fred and McTominay won’t be far away.”

With all the investment made during the summer window, July and August 2021, fans were hoping for more wins. Bringing in a world champion, like Varane, and one of the great promises of the continent, like Jadon Sancho, the least was for the team to play better.

“I don’t think they have the winning mentality that Manchester United used to have, when you played against them you thought, ‘We’re not going to be beaten today, we’re just going to try to get some points in the game.’ You show up against Manchester United now, home or away, and you think we’re going to beat them,” said fellow presenter Jamie O’Hara.
