Russian skater turned to a psychologist because of the fourth place at the Olympics

Russian speed skater Sergei Trofimov spoke about how he coped with emotions after performing at a distance of 5000 meters at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. It is reported by TASS.

According to the athlete, he turned to the psychologist Zhanna Semak, who helped him tune in to further work. Trofimov also noted that he received many messages with words of support. “I was very pleased, it helped me a lot to cope with my feelings,” said the Russian.

The athlete said that he was satisfied with his performance at a distance of 1500 meters, where he became the eighth. The competition took place on February 8th.

The Russian took fourth place in the 5000 meters on February 6. Trofimov lacked 0.39 hundredths of a second to win the bronze. The Dutchman Niels van der Poel won, the second was another representative of the Netherlands, Patrick Rust. The top three was closed by Hallier Engebroten from Norway.
