Foreign netizens were dissatisfied with the fact that the Russian team won silver in the ski jumping team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. Dissatisfied comments are available at Twitter competitions.
Fans considered that only because of the disqualification of the strongest teams, the Russians managed to get medals, and called what happened a circus. “What the hell is absurd!? Russia is a medalist in ski jumping!? Some kind of nonsense!”, “The level of corruption is going through the roof. Disqualify the main contenders for medals so that Russia can get hold of the award in ski jumping! What a disgrace!” they wrote.
The Russian team consisting of Irma Makhini, Danil Sadreev, Irina Avvakumova and Evgeny Klimov won silver on February 7. During the competition, the national teams of Norway, Japan, Austria and Germany were not credited with part of the jumps due to equipment inconsistencies with the rules. Athletes from Slovenia became champions. Canada is in third place.
For the Russians, the award was the first in the history of the team. The last time Vladimir Belousov from the USSR national team won gold in ski jumping was in 1968.
