Copa Libertadores 2022: the matches of phases 1 and 2 of the Conmebol tournament

The Copa Libertadores 2022 starts this Tuesday, February 8. The match between Montevideo City Torque and Barcelona SC kicks off the 63rd edition of the national tournament.

The Cup final this year will be played on Saturday, October 29 and for the first time it will be in Guayaquil, at the Monumental Banco Pichincha stadium, owned by Barcelona Sporting Club.

Below is the schedule for phases 1 and 2:

Phase 1

E1 key: Montevideo City Torque vs. Barcelona SC

C2 key: Audax Italiano vs. Students from La Plata

Match dates: February 23 and March 2

C3 key: Winner of Deportivo de E2 vs. Catholic University of Quito

Match dates: February 23 and March 2

C4 key: Atletico Mineiro vs. Guarani

Match dates: February 23 and March 2

C5 key: E1 vs. academic

Match dates: February 23 and March 2

C6 key: Colonia Square vs. The Strongest

Match dates: February 22 and March 1

C7 key: Everton vs. Monagas

C8 key: E3 vs. National Athletic

Phase 3 (8 teams)

• 8 winners of phase 2. The matches will be played from March 8 to 10 and from March 15 to 17
• 4 losing teams will go to the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana 2022

32 teams compete in the group stage (only the 8 leaders and their escorts advance to the round of 16). The draw for the duels will be on March 23.

• 5 casts from Brazil and Argentina
• 2 teams from Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela
• The champion of the Copa Libertadores 2021
• The champion of the South American Cup 2021
• Plus 4 winners of phase 3.

8 teams that finish in third place in their respective groups will advance to the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana.

• Eighth: from June 28 to 30 the first leg and the rematch from July 5 to 7.
• Rooms: from August 2 to 4 the first leg and the rematch from August 9 to 11.
• Semifinals: from August 30 to 31 the first leg and the rematch from September 6 to 8.
