American VSiN experts consider the Russian national hockey team the favorite in the fight for gold at the Olympics. This was reported on the publication’s website.
VSiN analysts believe that the Russian team claims to win the hockey tournament, as Alexei Zhamnov’s team has a strong line-up. Experts note that the Russian team has players with experience in the National Hockey League (NHL) – Mikhail Grigorenko, Anton Slepyshev, Vyacheslav Voinov and Nikita Gusev.
Among the favorites, the experts also named the teams of Sweden and Canada. The hosts of the tournament, the Chinese team, have the smallest chances of winning.
The men’s hockey tournament starts on February 9th. The Russian national team will begin performances with a match against the Swiss team. Domestic hockey players are in the same group with the Czech Republic, Denmark and Switzerland. The Russian team won gold at the 2018 Olympics.
The Beijing Olympics will run until February 20.
