Putin addressed the Russian figure skaters who won gold in the Olympic team tournament

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the figure skaters who won the team tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. His appeal was published on the Kremlin website.

The head of state noted that the Russians brilliantly coped with the tasks set and demonstrated the highest skill. Putin also stressed that the skaters gave unforgettable moments of joy and celebration to their loved ones, mentors and numerous fans.

The Russian national team won the figure skating team tournament earlier on Monday, February 7. Gold was brought by the performances of single skaters Mark Kondratyuk and Kamila Valieva, the dance duet of Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov, as well as the sports couple Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov.

The Russians won the team tournament at the Olympics for the second time in history. In Beijing, athletes will also compete for medals in individual disciplines.
