Russian biathlete Kristina Reztsova placed ninth in the individual race at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
The winner was the German Denise Hermann, who covered the distance in 44 minutes and 12.7 seconds and made one miss. The Russian missed twice and was 1 minute and 13.1 seconds behind Hermann. In second place was France’s Anais Chevalier-Boucher, with one penalty, 9.4 seconds back. Norway’s Marte Ulsbu Røiseland finished third with two penalties, 15.3 seconds back.
Other Russians could not get into the top 20. Svetlana Mironova took 23rd place, while Uliana Nigmatullina (who made ten misses) and Evgenia Burtasova remained in 77th and 78th places, respectively.
Reztsova is a bronze medalist at the Beijing Games. Together with Uliana Nigmatullina, Alexander Loginov and Eduard Latypov, she took third place in the mixed relay.
The individual race for men will take place on February 8. The beginning is at 11:30 Moscow time.
