Sarah Escobar releases pressure. It is very clear that being the pioneer of Ecuador in the Winter Olympics in Beijing-2022 carries an enormous responsibility. He has received a message of support and trust from the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, and in the Villa de Yanqing he had a meeting with the head of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE), Jorge Delgado. But the athlete has psyched herself up that the “most important thing is not to win, but to participate.”
Last Friday on his Instagram account he posted a quote from Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of Olympism: “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to participate, because the essential thing in life is not to achieve success but to strive for to get it”.
The skier of Ecuadorian parents but born in New York also has interested eyes on her from Americans who have been following her in recent days.
Sarah shared yesterday on stories Instagram an excerpt from a conversation with Bruce Beck, the main sports presenter in WNBC.
In the journalistic note they refer that Sarah Escobar is the first woman to represent Ecuador in a Winter Olympics in history, after her compatriot and also skier Klaus Jungbluth did it, in Pyeongchang, in 2018.
He started skiing at the age of 3
“I have dreamed and trained since I was 3 years old to get to the Olympic Games, Beijing is a dream come true. My parents have always supported me, and my mother, due to regulations, cannot be here. I’m going to ski for my mother,” Sarah promised in a note published on the COE’s official website.
