The Russian national team lost in the final of the European mini-football championship. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.

In the decisive match, the team lost to the Portuguese with a score of 2:4. At the ninth minute, Anton Sokolov brought Russia forward. On the 12th minute Andrey Afanasiev increased the team’s advantage. A minute and a half before the break, the backlog was reduced by Tomas Paku. In the second period, the Portuguese Andre Coelho scored twice. The final score in the meeting was set by Pani.

The Portuguese defended the title of European champions. In 2018, they defeated the Spanish team.

As part of the tournament, the Russian team did not suffer a single defeat. In the quarter-finals of the championship, Russian football players outplayed rivals from Georgia with a score of 3:1, and in the semi-finals they were stronger than Ukrainians – 3:2.

The European Championship has been held since 1996. In 1999, the Russian team won the gold of the European Championship. At the last European Championship in 2018, Russian football players won bronze medals.
