Russian luger Roman Repilov spoke about the problems in preparation for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. He is quoted by Sport24.
Repilov called the lack of funding for equipment before the Olympics a big mistake. “From my point of view, people who work in a team and with a team lack competence. I can say a lot of things, but it is clear that this is the wrong approach to achieving results, ”the athlete complained. He noted that the team did not even try to find a sponsor.
In November, the Russian team was left without equipment at two stages of the World Cup in Sochi. The sledges of several athletes were lost in China, where the starting stage was held. Repilov, Tatyana Ivanova and Diana Loginova were left without inventory.
After the first day of competition at the Olympics and two attempts, Repilov is in 13th place. The best of our athletes was Semen Pavlichenko, he stopped at the tenth position. On the 14th place is another Russian Alexander Gorbatsevich.
