During the game, fans in the stands shouted offensive and nationalistic slogans against the Russian team. “If the Ukrainian national team played with dignity, then its fans behaved, to put it mildly, inadequately,” the article says.
“Spectators from many countries did not understand that they were yelling in the stands. The Russian team turned out to be stronger than Ukraine in the semi-finals of the European Championship. Domestic football players outplayed rivals with a score of 3:2. However, a minute before the end of the match, Ukraine had a chance to level the score. The Russian goalkeeper saved the penalty.
The Russian national team will play in the decisive match of the tournament with the current champions – Portugal. Ukraine will compete for bronze medals in a duel against Spain. Both matches will be played on February 6th.
