Russian biathlete explained the loss at the finish of the mixed relay at the Games

Biathlete of the Russian national team Eduard Latypov explained the loss at the finish line of the mixed relay at the Olympic Games in Beijing. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.

“On the last descent, I made a small breakthrough, but this was not enough to win,” the biathlete shared. He noted that the rivals rolled very well at the finish line and were able to get ahead of him.

“I don’t know how things would have turned out if I hadn’t been the leader in front of the guys after the shooting. I do not regret that I chose such tactics for the last lap, ”said Latypov. He added that all athletes felt uncomfortable in such weather conditions.

The Russian team won bronze in the first biathlon race at the Games. In the mixed relay, in addition to Latypov, Ulyana Nigmatullina, Kristina Reztsova and Alexander Loginov performed. Biathletes from Norway became the winners of the race. The second place in the relay was taken by the French.
