The national team of Ukraine will refuse to shake hands with the Russians in the semi-finals of the Futsal European Championship

Players of the Ukrainian national team will refuse to shake hands with the Russians after the semi-final match of the European Futsal Championship. Sergiy Vladyko, President of the Futsal Federation of Ukraine, told Metaratings about this.

Vladyko commented on the recommendation of the Ministry of Sports of Ukraine not to be photographed and not to shake hands with Russians at the Olympic Games in Beijing. According to him, in Amsterdam, where the European Championship is being held, the team will follow the same rules.

“Let’s not forget about the coronavirus, it is still dangerous for health. We are in a situation of constant testing,” Vladyko said. He noted that the teams are almost isolated and have little contact with each other.

The semi-final match will take place on February 4 at 19:00 Moscow time. In another match of the 1/2 finals, the Portuguese will play with the Spaniards.

At the moment, Russian and Ukrainian teams do not play against each other until the playoff stage in tournaments held under the auspices of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). This measure was taken in the summer of 2014.
