The hockey player of the Russian national team in Beijing passed a dubious test for coronavirus. This was told to TASS by the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
“Among the hockey players of the main team there is one borderline test, I repeat, borderline. Today and tomorrow he will take repeated tests, we hope that they will be negative, ”Pozdnyakov said. The player’s name is not called.
Pozdnyakov also said that the hockey player of the Russian national team Diana Farkhutdinova was discharged from the hospital where she was due to a positive test for COVID-19. The athlete will soon join the team.
On February 2, it became known that the Russian men’s hockey team refused to fly to the Olympic Games with representatives of other sports. The reason was the fear of contracting the coronavirus. The national team is concerned that earlier, after a common flight, positive tests were detected in the women’s hockey team.
The Olympic Games will be held from 4 to 20 February. The Russian team led by Alexei Zhamnov will play with teams from the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Denmark in the group stage.
