Hockey turned out to be the most popular sport among Russian netizens. RBC writes about this with reference to a study by Yandex.
Before the start of the Beijing Olympics, the company studied the search queries of Russians with the words “Olympiad 2022 schedule”. It turned out that hockey matches aroused the greatest interest, they were ahead of biathlon and figure skating. Also in the top five were cross-country skiing and curling.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he loves not only hockey and skiing, which he tries to ride at every opportunity. “I love biathlon, figure skating, where our athletes are traditionally very strong. I am interested in ski jumping,” he listed.
The Beijing Olympics will be held from 4 to 20 February. The Paralympics will also be held from 4 to 13 March. The games will be held in three clusters at once – Beijing, Zhangjiakou and Yanqing. The World Health Organization said it sees no major risks in hosting the Winter Olympics in Beijing, given the strict epidemiological measures and other steps taken by the Chinese authorities ahead of the competition.
