The KHL club issued a statement on the case of a hockey player who raped a girl

Club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) “Locomotive” issued a statement about the case of raped an underage girl American team player Reed Bush. It is available on the club’s website.

Lokomotiv stressed that they are trying to instill in the players the right moral values, so they analyze in detail what happened to Bush. They added that the hockey player is on vacation at his own expense and is in the United States. The club’s management added that they need time to decide on the future of Bush, as they are waiting for the receipt of documents from the American court.

Earlier, on February 1, Bush was charged with raping a minor in the United States. The hockey player was sentenced to one year in prison on probation. He was placed on probation for four years.

On December 13 last year, during a court hearing, Bush admitted that at the age of 17 he had raped a 12-year-old girl. The court went to meet the athlete, allowing him to apply for a lesser charge. Initially, he was charged with committing a first-degree sexual offense, for which the American was threatened with up to 25 years in prison.

Boucher is best known for playing for the New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators, and Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League. As part of Omsk Avangard, he became the first US hockey player to win the Gagarin Cup.
