Artistic gymnastics champion of the Tokyo Olympics, Russian Artur Dalaloyan announced his retirement. He wrote about it on Instagram.
The 25-year-old gymnast admitted that the sport gave him unforgettable years. Nevertheless, Dalaloyan decided to end the speeches. He added that he intends to focus on the family.
At the Tokyo Olympics, Dalaloyan won gold in the team competition together with Nikita Nagorny, David Belyavsky and Denis Ablyazin. In the spring before the Games, the Russian was injured – a rupture of the Achilles tendon. Dalaloyan underwent surgery, he managed to recover and take part in the Olympics.
Dalaloyan has been performing since 2014. He repeatedly became the winner of international competitions. In particular, the Russian won the gold of the World Championships three times and the gold medals of the European Championships five times.
