She is arming herself for the relegation battle that awaits her in the upcoming round of the Spring Premier League. With the new sports director Jacek Zieliński and the new-old coach Aleksandar Vukovic at the forefront, the club attracts new players. The first of them was Patryk Sokołowski from Piast Gliwice, and Paweł Wszołek joined the team on Thursday.
For Paweł Wszołek it is a return after a six-month stay at Union Berlin. The 29-year-old winger, however, cannot count his stay in Germany as a success, as he played only 17 minutes in the German Cup game. He did not even make his debut in the Bundesliga. Therefore, the club decided to loan it to the previous employer.
Wszołek talks about difficult moments in Belin. “I failed to”
– I don’t like to judge myself and tell a lot about myself. For sure the last six months have not been easy for me, Union was playing with no nominal wingers and it was hard for me to get my chance. In the run-up period, I signaled for a chance in the league, but unfortunately I didn’t get too many minutes. However, I believe that I somehow developed in football and if I get the opportunity, I will confirm it on the pitch and I will be able to help the team – explained Wszołek, quoted by the portal.
The former Polish representative, however, confirmed his still huge ambitions and hopes, which he associates with his return to Łazienkowska. He also did not hide his joy at returning to the coaching bench. – I hope that I will be able to confirm my quality on the pitch. You will definitely see character because I will give my best. I believe now is the best moment of the season for the whole team. The moments during coach Vukovic were one of the most beautiful moments in my career. I won my first Polish championship, we had a great, very well-coordinated team – admitted Wszołek.
– Now I have been following practically all Legia matches, I am happy that I can come back here. I know there is a lot of quality here, a lot of great people – not just footballers, because I mean the whole community in the club. It was also decisive in a way, because I must admit that I had other borrowing options. However, I know how good this team is, I have seen a lot of quality in many matches and I hope that we will now prove it together through the results on the field – the 29-year-old finished.
During his first stay at Legia Warszawa, he played 59 games, scoring 12 goals and 15 assists. He won the Polish championship twice at Łazienkowska Street.
