The transfer of the defender to the Belgian first division championship is a big step for the defender who in 2021 had been excited about the Bundesliga.

The current champion of the LigaPro Serie A, Independiente del Valle, announced this Friday the transfer of William Pacho to the Belgian team Royal Antwerp FC, which for its part reported that the Ecuadorian signed a contract for 5 seasons.

“Ecuadorian William Pacho (10/16/2001) has just signed a 5-year contract at Bosuil. The 20-year-old left-handed centre-back, who has been on The Great Old’s radar for some time, comes from the Ecuadorian first division team Independiente del Valle”, the entity from the city of Antwerp reported on its website.

The footballer born in Quinindé (Esmeraldas) 20 years ago will join the group next week to resume training.

Pacho’s transfer to the Belgian first division championship is a big step for the defender who in 2021 had hoped to sign for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

Pacho had left Independiente del Valle in August of last year, even the club’s board paid him tribute for his services and gave him a commemorative shirt. His destiny was in Germany, but the negotiation did not prosper and the player continued in the discipline of the Sangolquileño squad, and even lifted the LigaPro Serie A monarch trophy last December.

“Thank you William for contributing so much to the club. Good luck in your next challenge. @official_rafc to take good care of him”, announced Independiente on his Twitter account.

Pacho will play in a league to which Independiente del Valle transferred one of the club’s values in December 2020: right-back Ángelo Preciado, to KRC Genk. In addition, until two weeks ago, the starting midfielder of the Ecuadorian team, Moisés Caicedo, defended the shirt of bottom team Beerschot VA (D)
