Running out of time, Liverpool are close to signing striker Luis Díaz, from Porto. The English club’s idea is to announce more reinforcements before the end of the winter transfer window in Europe.
According to the Daily Mail, from England, the Reds will send a medical team to Cordoba, where the Colombian national team will face Argentina, next Tuesday, in the qualifiers for the World Cup in Qatar.
The athlete will undergo examinations after defending his country’s team and, if approved, must be announced by the English club.
Before Klopp’s team, other Premier League teams tried to sign Díaz. Tottenham had an offer turned down by Porto and Manchester United probed the player, facts that made the Reds act more quickly.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool presented a proposal for Luis Díaz of 40 million euros (R$ 240 million) fixed and 25 million euros (R$ 150 million) to the Portuguese team.
The value of the termination clause is 80 million euros (R$ 480 million), but the offer pleased the Porto board.
The Colombian arrived in Portuguese football in 2019, after a good spell at Junior Barranquilla. At the age of 25, Díaz has already played 125 games for the Dragon, having scored 41 goals and 19 assists.
