Fans of another Russian club announced a boycott of Fan ID

Fans of the football club “Wings of the Soviets” joined the boycott of Fan ID. The fans’ statement was published in the Ultras’8 group on VKontakte.

“We, fans of the Krylya Sovetov football club, are not going to draw up documents that essentially duplicate the current legislation,” the Russian fans announced. They noted that absolutely all active fans of the club supported the boycott.

“We really hope that those who pass such laws will stop turning our country into chapters from the book 1984,” the fans said in a statement. They also pointed out that with the introduction of Fan ID, no one will be insured against being denied a document granting the right to attend football matches.

On January 27, the head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, spoke out against the introduction of Fan ID. The specialist said that the innovation will bring a lot of inconvenience to people who want to go to football.

On January 24, it became known that the fan movements of Spartak Moscow and CSKA, as well as Zenit St. Petersburg and Rostov, were opposed to Fan ID and were ready to boycott matches. After that, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was necessary to carry out explanatory work and identify the causes of discontent.

The law on the introduction of the FAN ID will come into force on 1 June. Russian league matches will resume after the winter break on February 26.
