UFC champion Usman admitted his desire to win a second belt

American mixed martial artist (MMA) Kamaru Usman admitted that he would like to have two belts of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Interview with the athlete published in GQ.

The 34-year-old UFC welterweight champion noted that at some point he realized that he could compete for the light heavyweight title. “I wouldn’t want to fight middleweight with Israel Adesanya. Then I decided that I could beat Jan Blachowicz (at that time the Pole was holding the light heavyweight belt – approx. “Tapes.ru.”) and prove that I can fight in any division,” he said.

In November 2021, Usman won his second fight against Colby Covington and defended his UFC title for the fifth time. Usman never lost under the auspices of the promotion. His winning streak is 14 fights.

On October 30, 2021, Blachowicz lost his UFC title to Glover Teixeira. He only defended the title once, outperforming Adesanya, who moved up in weight for the challenge.
