Fedor Emelianenko admitted leaving MMA after the fight in Moscow

Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Fedor Emelianenko admitted that he could retire from the sport after a fight in Moscow. He spoke about this on the air of the MMA Hour show.

The 45-year-old heavyweight’s fight against Timothy Johnson at the Bellator Moscow tournament could be the last of his career. “There is such a possibility. Much will depend on my condition after the fight. In addition, I need to consult with my family, ”said Emelianenko.

Emelianenko will fight in the main battle of the first Bellator tournament in Russia. The event will take place on October 23 in Moscow. The heavyweight will perform in Russia for the first time since June 2016. Then he fought in the framework of Fight Nights Global and defeated Fabio Maldonado.

It was originally planned that Emelianenko would play three fights before retiring. The first fight as part of the Russian’s farewell tour was held in December 2019 in Japan. Then he knocked out American Quinton Jackson.
