Now, the Senegalese await the clash between Mali and Equatorial Guinea this Wednesday to meet their opponent in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Senegal was the favorite of the confrontation and dominated the actions. In the first minute, Mané hit the right post to shake up the stands. At 21, things got easier when the referee, after reviewing the VAR, sent off Cape Verde midfielder Patrick Andrade after a tough tackle.
At the beginning of the second stage, goalkeeper Vozinha was sent off and made the game even more difficult for Cape Verdeans. So it didn’t take long for Senegal to finally score.
In the 18th minute, Sadio Mané took advantage of a rebound inside the penalty area and finished, the ball capriciously hit the post and entered the right angle. And already in stoppage time, Famara Diedhiou found Bamba Dieng who only had the trouble of pushing to the nets, thus decreeing the classification of the team.
