Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova commented on the failure of Russian figure skater Mikhail Kolyada to join the Russian men’s team for the Beijing Olympics. It is reported by Sport24.

“It is a pity that we will not see Kolyada at the Games. Luck ends sooner or later, ”the expert noted. Tarasova wished good luck to Evgeny Semenenko, who will replace the three-time Russian champion at the Olympics.

The fact that Kolyada did not get into the final application of the national team for the Olympics became known earlier on January 25. The full list of athletes who will travel to Beijing has been published on the website of the Russian Olympic Committee.

On January 16, Match TV reported that Kolyada could be left without participating in team competitions at the Beijing Olympics. The coaching council of the Russian Figure Skating Federation turned out to be against the participation of the 26-year-old athlete in them.
