The Russian judge explained the words about the gay champion figure skater

Russian judge Alexander Vedenin commented on his own statement about the gay French figure skater Guillaume Sizeron. His words are quoted by Match TV.

Earlier, Vedenin called the orientation of the Frenchman a minus, which makes the rentals of the four-time world champions Sizeron and Gabriela Papadakis colder. “Sizeron’s orientation is not a flaw, but his own affair. Commenting on the performance of Guillaume and Gabriela in Espoo, I meant that the French are very good and it is extremely difficult to beat them. One way is to better and more reliably express the love between a man and a woman, ”he explained.

The judge noted that representatives of the French Figure Skating Federation did not familiarize themselves with the original source of his direct speech. He suggested that his words about Sizeron might have been distorted by an inaccurate translation.

On October 20, the French Figure Skating Federation appealed to the International Skating Union with a complaint about Vedenin’s words. Sizeron himself called the judge’s statements inadmissible.

On October 10, Vedenin, commenting on the performance of Sizeron and Papadakis in the competition of dance duets at the Finlandia Trophy tournament, noticed that the couple had a minus. “They ride great, but it’s cold. A gay partner, and you can’t disguise it, ”the judge said.

Papadakis and Sizeron are four-time world champions and silver medalists at the Pyeongchang Olympics. The French skater came out in 2020.
