Spanish police are investigating a break-in and possible theft at the home of Karim Benzema, which would have taken place on Sunday, while the Real Madrid player was playing a match for the 22nd round of the Liga against Elche.
The action took place in the house that the attacker owns in the Madrid city of San Sebastián de los Reyes, located 30 km from Madrid.
“The player realized what had happened when he arrived home after the match and found the house all overturned,” local police said.
It is not yet known what objects were taken.
According to the first investigations, the thieves would have jumped the external wall of the property and entered after breaking a window.
Benzema thus joins other players who had their house robbed while they were on the field.
In October 2019, the Spanish Civil Guard and Europol announced the dismantling of a network of thieves, whose main targets were Atlético and Real Madrid players.
