The RFU explained the struggle of fans with Fan ID

Andrey Sozin, a member of the Ethics Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU), supported the decision of some fan associations to boycott team matches until the law on the introduction of Fan ID is repealed. His words are quoted by Metaratings.ru

Sozin said that the fans are fighting for their rights, since the work of Fan ID is still not structured. “Football is a game for fans. And now they will say that you cannot, because you lit a firecracker. The whole world burns. Performance is a way of life for fans. And if mothers with children sit, this is not football, ”he explained the protest of the fans.

Earlier it became known that active fan movements of Moscow Spartak and CSKA, as well as St. Petersburg Zenit and Rostov, are opposed to Fan ID and are ready to boycott matches. The law on the introduction of the FAN ID will come into force on 1 June. Russian league matches will resume after the winter break on February 26.

Fan ID was tested during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. To enter the podium, each fan was required to have a personalized spectator card. The presence of a Fan ID exempted foreign fans from obtaining a Russian visa.
