In “Zenith” reacted to the mass brawl of the team with the participation of Dziuba

General Director of Zenit Alexander Medvedev commented on the brawl involving the players of the St. Petersburg team after a friendly match with the Bulgarian Botev. His words are quoted by RBC.

Medvedev called the situation common in football and drew attention to the fact that the conflict was peacefully resolved. “They just got on their nerves. Yes, there was a small conflict, but after it all the players hugged each other and peacefully dispersed. There is nothing to worry about,” he said.

The friendly match that led to the fight took place on 22 January. The meeting had to end in the 80th minute after a foul by St. Petersburg midfielder Wilmar Barrios. The players started talking in raised tones and pushing each other. Forward Artem Dzyuba, who was on the bench, after the final whistle, entered the field and joined the brawl.

The meeting was held as part of a training camp in Dubai. It ended with the score 2:2.
