Porto wins Famalicão with tranquility and isolates itself in the leadership of the Portuguese Championship

This Sunday, Porto beat Famalicão 3-1, for the 17th round of the Portuguese Championship. Playing at home, the team took advantage in the first half, expanded in the second and managed the victory, taking the lead.

In the 25th minute, the home team opened the scoring. After a corner kick, Brazilian Otávio took advantage of the leftovers and hit from the entrance area to put Dragão in front.

Just seven minutes later, Otávio served Luis Diaz in depth and the Colombian hit the goalkeeper’s exit to widen in the first half.

In the second stage, Porto maintained control of the match and did not allow an opposing reaction. To close the score, Taremi converted a penalty kick in the 33rd minute of the second half.

Before the match ended, Colombian midfielder Uribe was sent off. The numerical disadvantage hindered the home team and, in the 47th minute of the second half, the Brazilian Riccieli decreased for Famalicão, but there was no more time for a reaction and the game ended in 3 to 1.

With the victory, Porto isolates itself even more in the lead and opens six points to the vice-leader Sporting. The team remains the only undefeated team in the championship. Famalicão remains in the relegation zone, in 16th place.

Earlier, Marítimo drew 1-1 with Belenenses, Vitória de Guimarães beat Estoril 3-1 and Gil Vicente won 1-0 against Portimonense.
