Playing away from home, Bayern thrash Hertha Berlin for the Bundesliga

Playing away from home, Bayern thrashed Hertha Berlin 4-1 this Sunday, in a match valid for the 20th round of the German Championship.

With the victory, the team from Munich reached 49 points and remains in the isolated leadership of the Bundesliga. On the other hand, Hertha Berlin follows with 22 points and is in 13th place.

For the 21st round of the German Championship, Hertha Berlin returns to the field on February 4th to face Bochum. Bayern, in turn, face Leipzig on the 5th, also for the national competition.

Even playing at the opponent’s house, Bayern pressed from the beginning of the match. After 3 minutes, Thomas Muller lifted the ball in the area to Tolisso, who moved from the mark and volleyed into the back of the net, but VAR pointed out an irregular position and disallowed the goal.

The Munich team continued to attack. Still in the first half, in the 25th minute, Tolisso himself received a cross from Coman on the left and headed with a fish to open the scoring. This time, the midfielder’s goal was validated.

Before the end of the first half, Lewandowski advanced and kicked in the corner, goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow couldn’t catch it and Muller took advantage of the leftover to extend the score, in the 45th minute.

In the second half, goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow played wrong and the ball fell to Leroy Sané, who increased the Bavarian lead.

In the 32nd minute of the second half, Gnabry scored Bayern’s fourth goal.

Shortly after, at 36, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp came on for Ishak Belfodil and, on his first move, scored for Hertha.

In the final minutes, Sané scored what would be his second goal, Bayern’s fifth of the match, but VAR caught a touch on the striker’s hand and disallowed the goal.
