This Sunday, Napoli, playing at home, thrashed Salernitana 4-1, in a match valid for the 23rd round of the Italian Championship.
Juan Guilherme scored the home team’s first goal, in the 17th minute of the first half. The visitors reacted and tied at 33, with Bonazzoli. In stoppage time, Veseli committed a foul inside the area and the referee awarded a penalty. Mertens converted and put Napoli ahead again.
With just three minutes into the second half, Rrahmani scored the home team’s third. At six, Veseli touched the ball inside the area, received the second yellow card and was sent off. In the penalty kick, Insigne did not forgive and scored the fourth and final goal.
With the triumph, Napoli closed the gap to leaders Inter Milan, which now stands at four points. The team even climbed to second position, but could be overtaken by Milan, who enters the field this Sunday. Salernitana, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the competition.
Napoli returns to the field on February 6, against Venezia, for Serie A. On the same date, Salernitana faces Spezia.
