The attorney for Karim Benzema in the blackmail case against Mathieu ValbuenaSylvain Cormier, considered that the victim “acts with envy” by accusing his client of complicity in the case, while justifying the Madridista’s absence in the oral hearing for his sports commitments.

In it, Valbuena persisted in considering that Benzema’s intervention in the case was malicious, contrary to what was declared in all previous interrogations by the Real Madrid player, who indicated that he only wanted to help his then teammate in the national team French national.

Cormier affirmed that the accusation against his client rests on the interpretation of a telephone conversation intervened by the police with his friend Karim Zenati, an ex-convict whom he asked to intervene to help Valbuena.

“They have made this process a mountain that rests on pieces of conversations taken out of context,” he said.

In addition to that, he pointed out, the charges against Benzema rest on the sentiment that Valbuena kept from the conversation that both players had on October 6, 2015 during a concentration of the national team.
