President Azul speaks of ‘unforeseen hostile interests and positions’ and that in his board of directors ‘nobody is intimidated by attacks and ambitions of others’.
The current president of Club Sport Emelec, Nassib Neme, by letter, announced that his group has not yet defined who will stand as a candidate for the next elections of the blue team, postponed by the health emergency and which caused the extension of the current directory until June 2022.
Days ago the Minister of Sport, Sebastian Palacios, consulted on the probability of a Neme candidacy anticipated: “Emelec is a private entity and we have the power to review your elections once they have been concluded., but no one can be re-elected more than twicein accordance with the statute”.
After this statement, Neme expressed his position and in the initial part of the letter he states: “The institutional and patrimonial development of Club Sport Emelec, has raised interests and hostile positions previously unthinkable. This is a sign of the club’s growth, which also has an important and active base of members inside and outside the country, who will know how to choose the best people at the right time to continue the growth and strengthening of the institution”.
It continues in the second paragraph: “The current directory of the Club Sport Emelec It brings together distinguished businessmen, professionals and, above all, good people who have selflessly given a lot to Emelec, just for the satisfaction of seeing a well-structured Emelec. Personally, I have sacrificed a lot, and with pleasure, to move the club forward”.
In the first part of the final paragraph it states: “None of the members of this directive is intimidated by the ambitions of some or attacks by others; and, above all, we are not interested in clinging to any position in the institution. We just wish that Emelec is in the best possible hands. For this, we will analyze in the coming days what is best for the future of the institution with a view to the elections this year”.
And he adds: “Whoever is going to lead and form a list for the elections, they will be people who have the commitment, the ability and desire to work for the institution. We will not analyze work teams thinking banally about the popularity of potential candidates or if they have the greatest sympathy from partners. We will never propose a list made up of employees of directors or their relatives, thinking of maintaining or running the club remotely.
He anticipates that the potential candidates could have a family tradition linked to the club. “But in my particular case, none of my children will participate in the next elections of the Club Sport Emelec ”.
“Neither have we officially presented my candidacy for a new election, nor has any official list of the current directory been determined.
