Olympique de Marseille beat Lens and continue in the hunt for leaders PSG

Olympique de Marseille beat Lens away from home this Saturday. In a match valid for the 22nd round of the French Championship, the visitors won by 2 to 0 and continue in the hunt for the leader PSG.

In the first half, Olympique was better and created their chances. The team managed to open the scoring, however, only in the 34th minute of the opening period, when Payet scored a penalty kick and took the game to halftime with an advantage for Marseille.

On the way back to the second half, Sampaoli’s team continued to control the actions of the match and headed for the victory in a safe way.

In a beautiful triangulation, Cédric Bakambu played lyrics to Guendouzi and entered the area to receive the ball back and kick it into the goal, expanding in the 34th minute of the final stage and closing the score of the match.

With the victory, Marseille returns to second position, with 40 points, 10 behind Paris Saint-Germain. Lens, in turn, remains in seventh position, with 33 points added.

Olympique de Marseille returns to the field next Saturday, at 17:00 (Brasília time), when they receive Montpellier for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France.

For the same stage of the tournament, Lens receives Monaco next Sunday, at 17:00 (Brasília time).

Earlier, for the French, Stade Brestois beat Lille 2-0, with goals from Djaló (own) and Mounié.
