The Russian biathlon team won silver medals in the women’s relay at the seventh stage of the World Cup in Antholz, Italy. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
The Russian team included Valeria Vasnetsova, Kristina Reztsova, Irina Kazakevich and Uliana Nigmatullina. Athletes lagged behind the winners by 24.6 seconds. Kazakevich, who performed at the third stage, went into three penalty loops.
Gold in the relay was won by biathletes from Norway. France finished in third place, 32.6 seconds back.
Russian biathletes win medals in the relay race for the third time this season. On January 14, the athletes became third at the stage in Ruhpolding. The Russians won the first silver medal of the season in Hochfilzin on December 11th.
The stage in Antholz will end on January 23 with mass starts. The next biathlon competitions will be held as part of the Olympic Games from February 5 to 19. Athletes will compete for 11 sets of awards.
