Russian biathlete Anton Babikov complained about the lack of friendly communication in the national team. He told RIA Novosti about this.
“There are no conflicts between us. But the team lacks a friendly atmosphere, we can’t just sit down and talk about abstract topics, ”the athlete shared. He noted that everyone is too tense before the Olympics. According to Babikov, someone should unite the whole team.
The biathlete also spoke about the possibility of getting to the Olympic Games in Beijing. “Is there any hope of getting to the Olympics in me? The selection has already been made. Of course, there is always a chance to go to the Games, but this is no longer about selection for competitions, but about chance, ”he emphasized.
On January 20, Babikov won the individual race at the World Cup stage in Antholz, Italy. He passed all four milestones without a miss in 49 minutes 46.8 seconds.
On January 17, Babikov was not included in the main team for the 2022 Games. The athlete remained in reserve along with Alexander Povarnitsyn.
Biathlon competitions at the Olympics will be held from 5 to 19 February. Athletes will compete for 11 sets of awards.
