The Polish Esports League sums up the year. “Breakthrough Time”

is one of the leading organizers of esports events in the country. Last year, for example, there were two seasons of CS: GO games, but there were also initiatives in Valoranta and other games.

The Polish Esports League has experienced a reset in recent years. The entire structure was reorganized and new game systems were planned. We didn’t have to wait long for the effects. In 2021, the company held several major tournaments, with the peak season in CS: GO, where teams competed for.

Fans could not complain about boredom, as they could follow various esports games for almost a whole year. The most important of them took place on the CS: GO scene. There were two seasons, spring and autumn, of the Polish Esports League, which were additionally divided into two divisions – professional and championship. Additionally, during the summer holidays, the PGE Super Cup was organized at the Lotos Summer Stadium in Gdañsk.

All these events attracted a lot of Counter-Strike fans. PLE also became involved in the development of the Polish Valorant scene, creating a tournament on an international scale, in which teams from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Poland took part. Additionally, there were tournaments in such games as NBA 2K21, F1, FIFA 21 and PES.

Innovative solution

The Polish Esports League also decided to cooperate with organizations. . The unprecedented plan of cooperation between the Polish Esports League and organizations associated with the PGE Championship Division is an investment in joint development. The effect was a significant increase in the attractiveness of the competition, including through the financial pool of up to PLN 250 thousand in the Autumn 2021 season.

In the report one can also find a lot of interesting data on viewing. A total of 930 hours of live streaming of the competition was produced. Audience peak was 27,201 spectators. In total, PLE broadcast was viewed almost 11 million times. Thanks to such a high level of activity, an advertising value equivalent of about PLN 8 million was generated.

The value of the Polish esports sponsorship market in 2021 was estimated at approximately PLN 32 million and I must admit that this amount is greater than we originally assumed. On the other hand, it is only 3% of the value of the sports sponsorship market, although it is possible that in the coming years this proportion may gradually change in favor of electronic sports – says the Managing Director at Sponsoring Insight, the company monitoring and researching the Polish e-sports space.
