Spaniards delighted with Messi’s behavior towards Lewandowski

The two biggest football plebiscites are FIFA The Best and the “Golden Ball” organized by “France Football”. Robert Lewandowski does not have very good associations with the latter plebiscite. In 2020, French journalists dropped the award due to the fact that the season was interrupted by a pandemic. And it was, after all, the year of Lewandowski, who won every competition in which he participated, and in addition ended it with the title for the best scorer. In 2021, the “Golden Ball” was awarded, but journalists chose which won the Copa America tournament with Argentina. Lewandowski can boast of it.

“The dominance of Lewandowski in the last two years was reflected in the FIFA voting. And this is a plebiscite that is characterized by the fact that it is the most democratic of all” – we read in the daily “AS”. On the other hand, “Marc” appreciates the attitude of Leo Messi.

Messi appreciated. “Although he knew it was Lewandowski who won”

Lewandowski went to the gala to collect the statuette in person. The Pole appeared at the event because he had already received information that he would be the winner. Only by means of an internet connection. This gesture was appreciated anyway.

“He sat with the iPad in his hand for an hour, although he knew that it was Lewandowski who would triumph” – says “Marca”. “It was a cordial and simply human gesture towards Robert, whom he had already praised at the France Football gala when he was encouraging him,” we read.

Messi’s behavior is worth praising because, as a rule, it happens that if a given star already knows that it will not win the plebiscite, it does not appear at the gala at all. Or he shows up – like Cristiano Ronaldo for example – to pick up a trophy that was only invented for that.

Lewandowski in FIFA The Best definitely beat Messi

The coaches and captains of the national teams as well as journalists and internet users participated in the FIFA The Best vote. Thanks to their decision, the Pole was ahead of Leo Messi and Mohamed Salah.

It turns out that Lewandowski turned out to be the best, taking into account the votes cast by staff captains (535 points), selectors (505) and journalists (589), having a huge advantage over his rivals – Messi received 254, 344 and 409 points, respectively, for Salah 271, 176 and 184 points.

The Bayern Munich striker lost only in the fans’ vote, where he won almost 354,000. votes. For comparison – as much as 708 thousand were given to Messi. votes, and for Salah – 528 thousand. votes. In total, Lewandowski scored 48 points, while Messi and Salah scored 44 and 39 respectively.
