The judges involved in the case of Djokovic called the reason for his deportation

Named the official reason for the deportation of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic from Australia. It is reported by The Mirror.

“The possibility of him performing in Australia could provide a rational basis for the view that he could contribute to anti-vaccine sentiment,” the judges who dealt with him said in a statement. In their opinion, the first racket of the world can influence people of all ages.

The judges noted that the decision to deport was made by Immigration Minister Alex Hawke. They added that another person in that position might have made a different decision. “The minister had the opportunity to conclude that Djokovic decided not to get vaccinated because he was against vaccination or did not feel like being vaccinated,” judges assessed the minister’s decision.

Earlier on January 20, it became known that Djokovic was in talks with lawyers to sue the Australian government for abuse. According to the tennis player and his family, he was treated badly in a quarantine hotel in Melbourne, where he was placed after the first cancellation of his visa.

On January 16, Djokovic was deported from Australia. The Serb was banned from visiting the country for three years. The athlete admitted that he was extremely disappointed with this decision.

On January 14, the Australian authorities revoked Djokovic’s visa and decided to deport him. The Serbian tennis player is in trouble because his visa does not include a medical exemption from COVID-19 vaccination. Also, inconsistencies of the declared information with real data were found in the documents.
