Janner Corozo and Michael Carcelén join the Ecuador squad

The two players have passed the COVID-19 infection and return to work for the double qualifying round, with duels against Brazil and Peru.

Corozo (Delfín SC) and Carcelén (Barcelona SC) were announced this day and They arrive at the national team after having overcome COVID-19 infections.

“The Ecuadorian Football Federation informs that they have been summoned to join the work of our National Team for the double qualifying date for the Qatar 2022 World Cup,” reported Ecuafútbol.

The two midfielders join the group that has been working since Monday in Quito and that he has already had the loss of defenders Byron Castillo and Fernando Léon, due to injuries.

Last Sunday, Gustavo Alfaro summoned 11 players, but with the departures of Castillo and León, the coach called José Cifuentes, with whom he worked with 10 footballers until this Wednesday.

With 12 elements, Alfaro will work the following days, until the weekend, with the Friday, January 21 as the initial deadline to know the rest of the payroll to measure the Brazilian teams on January 27 in Quito and on February 1 visit Peru, in Lima.
